Putney Heath’s favourite local

Properly good food, lip-smackingly tasty drinks, snug-as-anything corners, a gloriously leafy garden (perfect for a lazy afternoon), and a space that’s as family-and-dog-friendly as they come.

Tucked just a stone’s throw from Richmond Park, Putney Heath, Roehampton Uni and Queen Mary’s Hospital, we reckon you won’t find a better spot for a bite and a winter tipple this side of SW15. And honestly, with our heated and covered beer garden (hello toasty warm vibes) and big, bring-the-whole-gang dining room, why would you want to go anywhere else?

Our Sunday roasts are the stuff of local legend (crispy, golden, gravy-drenched dreams), and our fresh, British, seasonal menu is served all day, every day, just how it should be.

Lauren and the team look forward to welcoming you!

Our Winter Set Menu

Winter’s settled over Putney Heath, and we’re doing the season properly – cosy roaring fires, deep red wines, and those sink-into-a-corner-and-stay-awhile kind of evenings.

From 5th January to 27th February, join us Monday to Friday for our Winter Set Menu: comforting, soulful dishes that feel made for crackling-fire nights. Think roast Delica pumpkin & spiced ricotta ravioli with sage, toasted hazelnuts & capers (silky, warming, quietly luxurious) and Cumberland sausage & mash (classic, hearty, gravy-laced happiness).

Enjoy 2 courses for £19 or 3 for £23, the perfect excuse to dodge the chill, claim a cosy nook, and settle in with something delicious.

Guinness Six Nations

Big screens. Bigger roars. Ice-cold pints. Let’s hear it for the Guinness Six Nations. We’re showing every bone-crunching tackle and pitch-splitting try live in the best way we know how: with proper pints, stacked plates, and shoulder-to-shoulder cheering in your favourite local.

Stick with us this as we roar on our favourite nation (and grumble at the ref, lovingly, of course). From the opening whistle to the last-minute drama, we’re going all in. Don’t leave it too late, book your table, round up the gang, and let’s make this a Six Nations to remember in Roehampton.

The FIFA World Cup 2026

The King’s Head in Roehampton is a proper local pub where World Cup nights feel shared and personal. Neighbours gather to cheer together, creating an atmosphere that’s enthusiastic without being overwhelming.

Seasonal game-day specials run alongside the tournament, ensuring there’s always something worth arriving early for. It’s a welcoming setting for both regulars and first-time visitors looking to watch the World Cup near Roehampton.

For a community-driven pub showing the World Cup in South West London, The   King’s Head offers warmth, flavour and football in equal measure.

The best pub food in South West London

Head Chef Martin has been working his magic for years, sourcing top-quality, slow-cooked, winter-ready ingredients, think melt-in-your-mouth cuts of meat, golden-crisp root veg, and hearty, flavour-packed seasonal produce and transforming them into bold-flavoured, nostalgia-inducing pub classics.

Every plate is steaming-hot, proudly British, and cooked with love (and a generous splash of comfort). Feeling peckish yet? (You will be.) Take a scroll through our menus and discover the warming, belly-hugging dishes calling your name this season.

Putney Heath’s best pub garden

Join us in Putney Heath’s best covered-and-heated garden this winter, perfect for curling up under blankets, hot-water-bottle-ready corners, and sipping steaming, spice-laced mulled tipples (hands-toasty? Check). Whether you’re popping by for a cosy lunchtime bite or a winter-evening catch-up that turns into a full-on, one-for-the-group-chat night, there’s room for the whole gang (plus a few extra “just-popped-in” friends). With steaming-hot, flavour-packed plates, heart-warming drinks, and twinkle-lit, snug-as-a-bug corners, it’s the ultimate winter hangout.

See our private and semi-private hire spaces

We honestly can’t think of a single special occasion where we shouldn’t be top of your list, birthday blowouts, buttoned-up work meetings, long-overdue catch-ups (or those wonderfully flimsy excuses to get the gang back together).

From light-filled lounges to cosy, corner-hugging snugs, one of our ready-to-party, easy-to-book spaces is bound to be just the ticket.

Have a nosy at our rooms below, they’re a breeze to book online (two clicks, job done) or give us a ring if you fancy a chat about your plans. We love a good party brief.
